Do you fancy shopping? Then you probably know already that Barcelona is one of the top places in the world to go bargain hunting. And to avoid the heat of the streets during the summer months, head to one of Barcelona´s most famous shopping centers, Las Arenas.
Las Arenas is an invitation for a perfect bond between shopping and sightseeing that will make your day unforgettable for you and your family. Located in a former bullfighting ring, Las Arenas shopping center features spectacular 360º views of Barcelona. From the top you will see Montjuïc and the MNAC (Catalan National Museum of Art).
When travelling with kids is important to have everything at hand. In the underground floor of Las Arenas, you will find a changing room and a nursery room. There are also toilets adapted for kids.
If you are travelling with a stroller, you will find elevators within the shopping centre and also a panoramic elevator outside (the ride costs 1 euro for adult) that takes you to the rooftop floor. Since this elevator is the only one taking you to the dome area, it’s free of charge for those travelling on a wheelchair, a stroller and for kids under 12.
Las Arenas, shopping in a landmark
After years of restoration, Las Arenas shopping centre opened its doors in 2011. The six floors are located within the historic building of the old bullfighting ring of Barcelona. Shopping options go from fashion to media and technology, including a toy store for your kids, Eurekakids, and a FCB official store.
Besides shopping, the highlight of Las Arenas is the roof top terrace where you will find most restaurants (from typical Spanish food to Japanese style restaurants) seasoned with spectacular views of the city. There´s also an exhibition area that features temporary exhibits all year round.
Opening times: Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm. Restaurants at the rooftop terrace are open until 1:00am Sunday to Thursday and until 3:00am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Services: nursery room and baby changing room, free WiFi, exhibition area and 360 degree view from the rooftop terrace. Underground car garage.
